Kalighat Shaktipeeth: Where No Prayer Goes in Vain!
In Sanatan tradition, the Kalighat Temple in Kolkata is considered the most important of the 51 holy Shaktipeeths and one of the Siddh Peeths. According to legend, when Lord Vishnu cut the body of Maa Sati with his Sudarshan Chakra, the toes of Maa Sati’s left foot (angapat) fell here.
